Catch statistics: where, what on and when fish bite

A diary becomes useful when the records turn into conclusions. The statistics in CatchCount sort them by fish species, bait, groundbait, month, conditions and place.

What the statistics show

  • Fish species. How many fish of each species you have caught and which species dominates.
  • Bait. Which bait has caught the most fish.
  • Groundbait. Separately for the first and the second groundbait, if you use two.
  • Month and day. In which months and on which days of the week the fish bite most often.
  • Setup. Catches by hook, line, feeder and casting distance.
  • Conditions. Temperature, wind and cloud cover at the time of the catches.
  • Personal bests for every fish species.

Statistics by place

Catches can be filtered by place. The app groups them so that one and the same point on the map doesn't fall apart into dozens of different names:

  • if the map has a named reservoir, lake, fishing pond or pool, the catches are grouped by that water body;
  • if the water body is not on the map or you fish on a river, the catches are grouped by the nearest town or village;
  • for a river, the river and the settlement are added to the place name, but the river is not a group of its own, because it is too long to mean a specific place.

That way you can see all your statistics for one water body, or narrow them down to a single spot on the bank.

My catches and all anglers

Besides your own statistics, you can also look at the combined statistics of all anglers in the app. It shows which baits and groundbaits are producing overall for a given water body. The data is aggregated and not linked to any specific user, and exact coordinates are rounded.

Summary of every session

For every trip you see the number of fish, total weight, biggest fish, average temperature and wind, and the total number of casts across all rods. That way you see not only the result, but also how much effort it took.

Recommendations

Based on your records, the app suggests the most often successful combinations of bait and groundbait in similar conditions. The more catches you have, the more reliable the recommendations become. With little data they are only a rough guide.
