CatchCount › Offline Use

A fishing app that works without internet too

On many reservoirs and mountain rivers, the signal is weak or nonexistent. CatchCount is built so you don't lose records when there is no connection.

How offline mode works

Every catch is saved on the phone itself first, not on a server. That is why logging is instant and doesn't depend on the signal. When the device connects to the internet, the app sends the pending records automatically in the background. You don't need to do anything.

What happens to the photos

Catch photos are shrunk on the phone and wait in a queue. They are uploaded when there is a connection and attached to the right catch. If the app is closed, the queue stays and resumes the next time you open it.

Location without internet

GPS works without internet. If there is no connection, the catch is saved with its coordinates, and the name of the place is looked up later, when the internet returns. After that, the statistics show the place with the name of a water body or a town or village, not as numbers.

What still needs internet

  • the first login to your account;
  • syncing between phone and computer;
  • the combined statistics of all anglers;
  • uploading photos and looking up place names.

A tip for the bank

Open the app and log in while you still have internet, and install it on your home screen. After that you can fish all day without a connection, and in the evening, at home or at the first spot with coverage, everything syncs.
